It is always wonderful to feel the world wake up after the long winter season, as much as I adore the bleak grey days and dark nights of winter, I love to see the waking of spring. It's been an interesting 3 months to start the year.. much of which has been taken up developing, creating and photographing the Global Sistaz United project for the Global Village Exhibition. Ive throughly enjoyed creating new work using memory as a theme to trigger ideas for photographing and for final exhibition. The feedback has been great and our exhibition private view was a fabulous night. I am so pleased with the final photographs that we decided to exhibit, representing women refugee memories of home from Nigeria, Eritrea and Malawi. On a commercial level, in March - it's been great working with the excellent streetfood business DosaLove photographing their new line of food that is to be added to an already amazing menu! I and DosaLove are really pleased with what has been created. From April through to end May, I will be concentrating on two events - the build up to the ABC Art Trail which takes place June 1st 2nd, I will be hosting visitors once again at Beeston Dental Practice, selling a range of cards, prints, mini prints and exhibition prints. I'm lucky to have the sole use of the reception and hall area and look forward to greet old and new visitors alike!. Put the date in your diary.
I will also be collaborating with the scientist Elena Bot for the Creative Reactions sci/art event in Nottingham on May 23rd. More information to follow. As a nudge to spring and the transience of life, the passing seasons, past happenings and the thought that we are here for just a moment in time in the grand scheme of things..
