September already and I haven't posted on here for a while due to a whole range of things but mainly busy-ness. Today I head out to Sweden to take part in the Uppsala Foto Festival 2015. The exhibition opens Thurs 6pm through til Sunday 5pm. I look forward to exhibit alongside 5 other artists from Sweden, Spain, and Chile at Radisson Blu Hotel. There are many workshops and lectures taking place along the 4 days which I hope I may be able to fit a few in. I would very much like to see the pinhole selfies by Ignas Kutavacius too, alongside the many other interesting works across this fine city. For any of my Swedish followers, please pop on in and say hello and I hope you enjoy the exhibition. My exhibition Room and space will be ready for viewing from 6pm 24th Sept..
Exhibition Statement Sara’s art draws from personal journeys around the idea of ‘self and space’ and the resulting interaction from this. She is currently working on an ongoing series of photographs ‘Emotional response to the environment and spaces’ where she uses natural, created and manipulated spaces in which ‘I’, the ‘self’, engages with. Through the medium of photography Sara strives to capture her relationship, dreams and imagination to these spaces by utilising aspects of ‘time related space’ – traces of the past and present, and ‘spiritual related space’ – spiritual/ ethereal feelings that resonate forthwith. Sara’s natural space and nature engagement work comes from a conscious, deep desire to connect and preserve the beauty and solitude of nature; She considers nature, and our relationship with it, fundamental to the real core of the self and to human well being’ 'Those who dwell among the beauties and mysteries of the Earth are never alone or weary of life.’ Rachel Carson I hope to meet some new faces at the exhibition to discuss and share my passion for photography and I very much look forward to see wonderful Sweden again... Hej da! :-)
