iOpening next weekend 24th June is the new Canalside Heritage Centre in Beeston Rylands, next to the canal at the lock, formerly weir /lock keeper's cottages. I, alongside my teaching group and our collective, Beeston Snappers, are proud to be the first to exhibit photographs taken before the space was renovated and in a state of dereliction.
Our exhibition runs through til August so there will be plenty of time to see the work hung - my photographs are based around the hints and traces of human presence still in existence when I photographed the space. Other work includes, textures, exteriors and transformation. I am very excited to see the work in this brand new beautiful space - light and airy, with an outdoor balcony next to the weir gallery - and yet with a real feel of age and atmosphere in the ground space. Please do take the time to come along to this space as it's just beautiful! We hope to have a viewing night also where friends, families and supporters of our work are welcome to attend - more info to follow but for now - a sneak preview of one of my larger images included in the exhibition. So the time has come again for the ABC Art Trail - which takes place around Attenborough, Beeston and Chilwell this weekend 3rd & 4th June 11a.m - 6p.m. I will be exhibiting a large range of new and older photographs, work from different series, fabric hangings, glass frame prints, cards, prints and mini prints on a range of photo papers, in the reception and weather permitting, garden area of Beeston Dental Practice, 3 Devonshire Ave, Beeston NG9 1BS. I will also be available to discuss my community photography project, canal heritage project, contributions to the Tim Andrew's Project and my recent science collaboration with Nottingham University Professor of Chemistry Steve Howdle for Creative Reactions - Pint of Science. I look forward to welcoming members of the public to my venue and exhibition in what I hope to be a fun and interesting weekend. We also have a prize draw for the art trail, spend over £10 with an artist or maker and you will be automatically drawn into the raffle. Come on along and say hello! |
