My weekend consisted of cycling, wild camping and photographing when the moment arrived. Entering into conversation about nature was interesting. For me, Being 'in' nature is like a dream, my time in forests, next to water, in hills, felt 'dreamlike' it takes my mind into a different realm that is hard to put into words but at best, a hypnosis that feels part of me and overcomes me. The process of photography often feels the same.. I noted that if I lived out amongst nature on a permanent basis it would be interesting as to how further this would affect the imagination.
It is a fact that as a child this 'dreamlike' feeling was present with me then. I remember an old Yew tree that I stumbled across at the age of around 6 or 7 years old, this tree to me was magical and mysterious with a unknown sense of time. I still remember the visual image, feel, smell and power of this tree. Maybe some of us just become more dreamlike given the right circumstances for our mind, maybe some of us see nature as science. I know where I fall amongst this. It is all interconnected but to be transported into another realm by nature itself, is a wonderful thing. I captured this moment of secrecy wandering through one of my favourite forests
